Valley of the Tines

Here are the valentines I made this year. I used cutouts from a 1941 Good Housekeeping Magazine. (Thanks, Mom!) Oh, and I also included my valentine box!

(That last one is totally my favorite.)

You can quote me on this...

"Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working." via (Pablo Picasso)

"My life has a superb cast but I can't figure out the plot." via

"There is no effect more disproportionate to its cause than the happiness bestowed by a small compliment." via (Robert Brault)

"God and other artists are always a little obscure." via (Oscar Wilde)

"My band aid looks like an owl." (Hattie Bogenhagen)

You win some, you lose some

I attempted this tutorial tonight and experienced a craft fail. (The parchment paper melted to my shirt somehow.) Anyway, I thought I would post a recent craft attempt that was an actual success.

I found a look on Red Velvet's new website that I loved. I HAD to recreate it. (Sorry, Elsie - I couldn't afford the $36 for yours today.) I made mine out of a scrap of leather and a piece of chain that had been a broken purse strap. I used paint and sharpie.

Coming soon... Will it fail or succeed? Only time will tell.

Be sure to wear flowers in your hair

Tomorrow, men (and women, I suppose) will spend bajillion dollars on flowers. I have requested a homemade pie from Jeff in lieu of flowers. Of course that doesn't mean I don't love flowers - I just love them in forms other than the standard bouquet. Here are a few nontraditional flower pics that have been inspiring me lately...

Today's post has Been Brought to you By the letter "B"

I've Been a Bad Blogger. I Blame Birthdays. I have now taken care of FIVE people's Birthday gifts Between the dates of Feb. 4th and Mar. 4th. But of course I can't post about them yet since most (well all actually) of them have not Been given to the recipients yet. Luckily I will have a week or two off Before I need to get Back into Birthday mode again. Excuses excuses I know. But Be excited to see what cool things I have made!

I plan to get started on my crafting goal to start an etsy store now that I have a little Bit more unaccounted for crafting time. However, there is also something major I've Been missing out on in my life -- Books!!!

My favorite author is Tom RoBBins. Period. I also love Christopher Moore and Kurt Vonnegut. I am on a constant hunt for books that fit into my very specific genre of Books... intellectual, yet imaginative. I enjoy Bizarro fiction, which is similar to his work, But not quite.

Needless to say, I Bought a couple of super cheap used Books on half.com so I can Bring reading Back into my life.

I Bought:
"Help, A Bear is Eating Me" By Mykle Hansen
"Nine Kinds of Naked" By Tony Vigorito
"The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse" By RoBert Rankin

Wish I had already purchased these for my snow days...
